Is Paul Pierce To Barstool Sports A Done Deal?

Is Paul Pierce To Barstool Sports A Done Deal?

Paul Pierce parted ways with ESPN this week after he posted a racy video of himself to Instagram.

For reasons that nobody quite knows or understands, the former Boston Celtics legend decided to show himself off having fun with some strippers, smoking and hanging out with friends.

Because ESPN is big on maintaining its clean-cut image, it couldn’t stand for that sort of indecency.

Ultimately, Pierce and the Worldwide Leader in Sports went their separate ways on Monday afternoon.

That said, it sounds like he won’t be a free agent for long.

Late Monday, Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports expressed interest in adding Pierce to his lineup.

One day later, on Tuesday, Portnoy reaffirmed his interest.

“Listen, Paul Pierce, I’m gonna make a run at Paul Pierce,” Portnoy said.

“I’m gonna make a run at his a–. I reached out. Contact has been made. He got fired from ESPN for having strippers and blunts in the background of a livestream. Whatever, I don’t give a f— about that. We’d love to have him.”

Portnoy, a sex tape connoisseur and no stranger to controversy himself, usually doesn’t put stuff like this out there unless he legitimately means it.

Barstool is no stranger to signing big name sports celebrities. Earlier this year the massive sports media company inked a huge deal with Deion Sanders – ultimately stealing him away from the NFL Network.

Will the same happen here? Time will tell.
