Dwayne Haskins’ Wife Kalabrya's Tragic Final Instagram Post

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was involved in a fatal car accident this weekend.

The 2018 Heisman Trophy finalist was in South Florida with teammates preparing for the upcoming season when he was struck and killed by a dump truck Saturday morning while trying to cross a highway on foot.

Details regarding why precisely Haskins was attempting to do this are sparse at the moment, but what has come out has been deeply disturbing.

In the aftermath, all eyes turned to the family Haskins left behind – including wife Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins.

Specifically, fans noted the tragic final post Gondrezick-Haskins published to Instagram prior to her husband’s untimely death:

Just tragic stuff, through and through.

Haskins and Gondrezick-Haskins obviously had some very notable and extremely public issues. His strip club controversy and intimate texts getting exposed speak to that, as does her domestic violence incident. But it seems like the love they shared was very real, and extremely genuine.

Understandably, Haskins’ unfortunate death has resulted in a lot of reactions and commentary. Two prominent NFL personalities have come under fire for their particular assessments on what transpired, with one facing a possible firing as a result of what he said.

Gondrezick-Haskins, a prominent athlete in her own right, was a four-time all-state basketball player out of Benton Harbor High School who also played at Michigan State. To date, she has yet to offer a statement explaining what precisely led to her husband’s decision to cross the highway.

Haskins’ passing understandably stunned the NFL community to its core. Hopefully in the coming days and weeks the league provides all parties with an avenue to grieve and express their condolences to the Haskins family in an appropriate fashion.
