As one of the most notable stars in the world, Union’s sports preferences have often come under review over the years.
Most people know her for her unwavering support of husband Dwyane Wade’s teams prior to his retirement – but Union’s sports fanhood does not start or end there.
Union is actually one of the biggest and most beloved Nebraska fans in the country.

Having been born in Omaha, Nebraska, and spent some of her formative years there, she developed a certain affinity for all things Cornhuskers.
“In my family if you couldn’t talk Cornhusker football — that means knowing the black shirt defense, knowing the I-back formation — then you don’t get to have an opinion,” she said during an interview with ESPN.
“When I first toured the Nebraska campus and I saw Turner Gill walk, I freaked out.

“That was like the biggest star-struck moment I’ve probably ever had in my life.
“But it’s because I grew up in a household that always talked specifically Cornhusker football and Big 8 sports, at the time.”

Union has also converted Wade, who played college basketball at Marquette, into a fan.

In a particularly touching gesture, Union will wear the jersey of Christian Gaylord to this week’s game after he lost his father in a car accident recently.
Nebraska will face off against Ohio State on Saturday.
