Urban Meyer Gives Odd College Football Playoff Predictions
Urban Meyer gave out odd college football playoff predictions this week.
Meyer, 55, has spent the last year as Fox’s college football insider after leaving Ohio State last season.
The assumption was that Meyer would simply relax as a talking head for a bit before ultimately taking over the soon-to-be-vacant USC job.
Unfortunately for Meyer, USC opted to retain Clay Helton. So now it remain to be seen what the future holds for him.
In the meantime, Meyer appeared with his co-hosts this week and offered his predictions for how the College Football Playoff would unfold.
In his opinion, Ohio State will beat Clemson and then LSU will beat Oklahoma. From there, he thinks the Buckeyes will defeat the Tigers for the National Championship.

“I’m saying Ohio State vs. LSU in the national championship game. I think Ohio State has the most talented roster,” Meyer said.
“[Clemson] will be the fastest, most athletic team they’ve faced all year. I’ve watched film and actually watched film with some of the coaches, they’re very impressive – especially the offensive skill of Clemson.
“I think this will be a very good game, but I pick Ohio State. And I’m going LSU, I think LSU is just too much for Oklahoma – especially with the suspensions.”
Meyer’s co-host, Joel Klatt, agreed with the former coach’s selections. He also had LSU and Ohio State as the two teams facing off for a title.
Former USC quarterback Matt Leinart, meanwhile, picked Clemson to defeat Ohio State and LSU to beat Oklahoma. That would set up Clemson vs LSU for the National Championship.
