Paul Finebaum has a controversial take on Alabama vs LSU.
With the Crimson Tide and Tigers set to square off this weekend for SEC supremacy, tensions are high.
This game will tell us a lot about the direction both of these programs are headed in, as well as offer answers to some touchy questions people have been asking all year long.

We will likely be able to answer at least a few of these questions as soon as Saturday night, but ESPN’s Finebaum believes he already knows the answer to the last one.
While appearing on Get Up this week, he indicated that Saturday’s showdown is absolutely a must-win game for Alabama.

“Alabama must win this game,” he said.
“Nick Saban is the only coach in the last 80 years to win a national championship without winning his division.
“That dog is not going to hunt this time around.”

And Finebaum did not stop there.
“Because Alabama doesn’t have a good win other than Texas A&M, which is not really a good win.
“So if LSU goes to Alabama, a place that nobody wins, they’ve lost three games in the last seven years, and LSU loses, that’s still a really quality loss.
“If Alabama loses at home? Forget about it.”
Alabama obviously does not have a single victory that stacks up to LSU’s victories versus Texas, Florida and Auburn.
Does that make this weekend’s showdown more important for them?
It would certainly seem so.
