Kentucky Cheated Out Of Victory Over Ole Miss By Bad Call (Video)
Ole Miss upset Kentucky 22-19 this weekend, but the game wasn’t without controversy.
Many left the proceedings on Saturday feeling as though the Wildcats should have gotten the win.
Late in the fourth quarter with Kentucky down three and trying to move forward on offense, quarterback Will Levis had his group in Ole Miss territory and with momentum on their side.
With roughly three minutes on the clock, Levis attempted to gain some easy yardage. He immediately ran into an Ole Miss defender, and then promptly got smashed by another defender who knocked the ball loose:

Should this have been reviewed for targeting?? pic.twitter.com/1RCKlviiYu

Understandably, some fans were livid about the lack of a targeting call.
The reactions poured in:
Whoever is running the SEC press box TV review replay in Oxford should be fired immediately by SEC for not reviewing the targeting crown to helmet shot of Will Levis. Absolutely no excuse. Absolutely none. @SEC

@SEC @GregSankey @SECOfficiating It’s obviously not about safety. When they don’t even review, that tells you all you need to know. Call what they want and who they want it to benefit. https://t.co/aGGpE1se8q

That being said, not everyone was sympathetic:
I know it’s terrible. Levis should have gotten a targeting called in him. https://t.co/7eSUbm0rYg

Apparently you didn’t see Levis lowered his crown first, which would’ve resulted in targeting on him. Y’all want targeting so bad but don’t actually watch the fucking play. STUDY SON https://t.co/TYrK6XwGOo

This has been something of a wonky college football week. Between Lane Kiffin getting physical with one of his players and Lee Corso’s health problems – it has just been one issue after another.

This is just par for the course.
That said, this is a pretty serious problem. When calls are botched, the entire integrity of the game takes a hit. And when that happens enough times, wins and losses lose their importance.
Hopefully the SEC comes out and addresses this situation one way or another. If they don’t, a lot of fans won’t soon forget what happened this Saturday.
