Arch Manning’s Transfer Options Down To 3 Schools Amid Texas Troubles
Arch Manning was at one point the most highly sought after high school football recruit in the country. The mania surrounding him and where he would go to college was intense.
During that chaotic period, a video of him in bed with some blonde girl where he jokingly committed to a school nearly broke the internet.
When he eventually committed to Texas, there were questions about whether the Longhorns would just immediately hand the keys to the program to him.
With more than one half of the college football season in the books, Manning has yet to start a single game. And it isn’t just because of Quinn Ewers. Second-year freshman Maalik Murphy started in Ewers’ absence while he was nursing a sprained shoulder.
In recent days, chatter has began to intensify about Manning transferring. He came to Texas to start – but that goal seems further than ever at the moment.
If Manning does transfer, three schools appear to be the frontrunners for his services.
Ohio State seems like the most logical choice on multiple fronts. First and foremost, the Buckeyes have won in 2023 in spite of Kyle McCord, not because of him. He is not a program cornerstone. Manning has the potential to be. Plus, it would allow Manning to join a winning situation.
USC makes a ton of sense, too. Obviously defensively the Trojans are garbage. And sure, that is where their focus should be, but Caleb Williams is NFL-bound. For all his deficiencies, Lincoln Riley knows how to coach up quarterbacks. Manning could be a beneficiary of that.
Finally, don’t sleep on Ole Miss. Lane Kiffin’s relationship with Manning is a matter of public record. It really wouldn’t be all that shocking at all to see them unite.

All in all, it is understandable why Manning chose to Texas.
So far, though – that experiment hasn’t really worked out for him.
Will Manning ultimately make the move to transfer from Texas come this summer? Time will tell.
