Browns Fans React To Colin Kaepernick Signing Rumors

Browns Fans React To Colin Kaepernick Signing Rumors

The Cleveland Browns acquired Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans this summer.

Unfortunately, due to his personal woes, the 26-year-old will miss at least six games at the beginning of the season.

At the moment, Jacoby Brissett is slotted to serve as Watson’s replacement for as long as he is out.

This week, however, Colin Kaepernick became linked to the Browns’ increasingly concerning short-term quarterback dilemma.

“Earlier this offseason, Kaepernick went through a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders, who ultimately opted not to sign the 34-year-old as a backup for Derek Carr,” wrote Ben Axelrod of WKYC. “He also spent time working out with Cleveland tight end David Njoku and wide receiver Jakeem Grant Sr., as well as former Browns wideout Jarvis Landry.”

Reactions to the prospect of Kaepernick landing in Cleveland poured in immediately.

As noted, Kaepernick worked out for the Raiders earlier this summer. Ultimately that didn’t go anywhere, though the real reason why didn’t emerge until recently.

Shortly thereafter, the details of Kaepernick’s workout with the Raiders, in all their gory details, leaked out.

At one point Kaepernick was linked to 3 different NFL teams, but nothing materialized.

Will things end up different this time around with the Browns?

Time will tell.
