Austin Reaves’ Brutal Message For Ja Morant, Grizzlies

Austin Reaves delivered a brutal message to Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies last week during a podcast appearance.

In the 2023 NBA playoffs, Reaves’ Los Angeles Lakers came in as a seven seed. The expectation was that the second-ranked Grizzlies would make light work of them.

And that is an expectation that each Memphis player seemed to internalize. One in particular let his bravado take over to such an extent that, when the Lakers ultimately upset his squad in the first round, he had to do a walk of shame afterward.

During a recent ‘Full Send’ podcast appearance, Reaves called out Morant and the Grizzlies for all their trash-talking.

“All of Memphis honestly, their whole team talks s**t,” Reaves replied when asked who talks the most smack. “It felt good beating them in the playoffs.”

This isn’t the first time Reaves has called the Grizzlies out in this fashion. He also had some choice words for Dillon Brooks.

Reaves can’t be blamed for calling it how he sees it as far as Memphis goes. The man must be feeling invincible right now.

Not only did Reaves get a four-year, $54 million extension this summer, but he is quietly emerging as one of the key heroes for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup.

Between that and the way he was partying it up with his girlfriend throughout the offseason, it’s safe to say that Reaves is living his best life at the moment.

Will the Grizzlies go extra hard after Reaves in 2023-24 after his very public callout of them? Time will tell, but either way, he probably isn’t sweating the situation all that much.
