Andrew Wiggins’ girlfriend, Mychal Johnson, responded to rumors about his Golden State Warriors absence in a new video published this week.
Last season Wiggins played an instrumental role in his team’s march to a fourth NBA championship in eight years. His consistent defense and timely offense earned him a four-year, $109 million extension over the offseason.
Unfortunately, while Wiggins’ stats remained largely the same in 2022-23, his games played total has dropped significantly. After playing in more than 70 games for each of his last two seasons, he has participated in just 37 outings so far this year. Moreover, he has been out since Feb. 13 with what has been described as a personal matter.
The secrecy surrounding why Wiggins is out has led to a lot of rumors and speculation, including one particularly unsavory bit of gossip alleging that his girlfriend had cheated on him. In addition, the rumor suggests that least one of Wiggins’ children, all of whom look like him, aren’t his.
The whole thing is preposterous on multiple levels.
But this week, Johnson opted to tackle the topic again in a video.

In the clip, Johnson can be seen walking with the voiceover saying, “Just to clear the air, I don’t give a f**k about how nobody feel about me.”
Then in the caption, Johnson wrote: “Just so we clear” and the hashtag, “I don’t give a f**k.”
It’s obvious that all parties involved are over this nonsense, but sadly they aren’t being allowed to move on.
This week, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed Wiggins’ expected return to the team.

It’s obvious that everyone just wants him back and to put this whole matter behind them.
One way or the other, it’s a given that Golden State will be in the playoffs this year. They will have the opportunity to defend their title.
Will Wiggins eventually return to the Warriors to help them achieve that goal? Time will tell.
