Was Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul Rigged?

Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul fought a largely uneventful match on Sunday evening. The bout went eight full rounds with no one securing a finish.

Because the rules of the fight clearly stipulated that there would be no judges to determine a winner if this thing went the distance, Paul surviving all eight rounds ensured that everyone gets to walk away happy.

Everyone except the fans, that is.

After the fact, many at home accused the match of being “rigged” because their preferred winner couldn’t secure a knockout.

These fans took to social media to express their frustration:

So was it rigged? Probably not. It’s unlikely that Mayweather, or Paul for that matter, would really sacrifice their credibility for a single payday. Not when there are so many future paydays out there for them.

That said — you can’t blame folks for being suspicious.

So what’s next for all parties involved? Logan’s brother, Jake, has a big fight against former UFC champ Tyron Woodley on the horizon. And when he isn’t exposing the DMs of random people’s girlfriends, Jake is actually a pretty entertaining fighter.

Logan, meanwhile, is clearly angling for another shot at Mayweather. Whether he will ultimately get one remains to be seen.

And that’s to say nothing of the specter of Conor McGregor — which continues to hang over everything.

Buckle up, it’s going to be an entertaining next few months in the boxing game.
