Urban Meyer Reveals Truth About Chase Young, Ohio State

Urban Meyer reveals the truth about Chase Young and Ohio State in a recent interview.

Young was viewed by most as the consensus No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

All year long he had spearheaded Ohio State’s defense and turned the Buckeyes into one of the most formidable teams in the nation.

On Friday, news emerged that Young was being suspended indefinitely due to a loan that was received from a “family friend.”

Neither the length of the suspension nor the intimate details of the loan have officially been confirmed yet.

After the Young news broke, former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer came out and offered his take on everything that has happened up to this point.

“I first found out early in the week, talked to Gene Smith and was just as shocked as everybody,” he said.

“I think my understanding is the transparency – Chase and his family have been very forthright – which is the key whenever you’re dealing with NCAA issues.

“He’s working with Ohio State and the NCAA to get this thing wrapped up.”

Meyer did not stop there, though.

“My understanding is once again, the most important thing is transparency, honesty.

“He realized he made a mistake – this is what I always appreciated about a guy like Chase – he made a mistake, he owned it and he’s working to get it corrected.”

Young is out for Ohio State’s game against Maryland on Saturday, but beyond that is unclear how long he will be forced out.
