Harris previously accused Mayweather of assaulting her on multiple occasions. After one particular incident, in 2010, Mayweather served a 90-day jail sentence.
Prior to that, Harris accused Mayweather of assaulting her in 2005 – but she ultimately ended up dropping those charges and insisting she was lying.
Harris had recently filed a $20 million lawsuit against Mayweather that both were headed to court over later this year. The lawsuit stemmed from an interview with Katie Couric where Mayweather denied beating Harris in 2010. He insisted that he had tried to restrain Harris because she was on drugs.
Obviously Mayweather’s version of events served in stark contrast to the report from the incident.
Mayweather has yet to issue a public comment on Harris’ passing.
