Actress Shailene Woodley and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers dated for the better part of two years. At one point, the pair even became engaged to be married.
Unfortunately things would fall apart shortly thereafter.
This past February, a year after announcing their intentions to marry, Woodley and Rodgers called the engagement off. Not long after, despite several attempts to reconcile, the pair called it quits for good.
Recently Woodley posted an emotional video to Instagram that seemed to offer insight into what went awry with Rodgers and why her dating life hasn’t gone as planned up to this point.

“It’s what I want in a relationship which might explain why I am single now,” the woman in the video states.
“It’s kind of hard to, it’s that thing when you’re with someone and you love them and they know it and they love and you know it…
“But it’s a party and you’re both talking to other people and you’re laughing and shining and you look across the room and catch each other’s eyes, but not because you are possessive or it’s precisely sexual, but because that is your person in this life. And it’s funny and sad…”
It’s worth remembering, Woodley and Rodgers’ relationship had been a whirlwind from the jump. Beginning with the arguably shady way they got together and ending with her trying to get over him by allegedly making out with an A-list Hollywood actress, it has been one thing after another.
Besides, by any objective measure, the two of them didn’t seem suited to one another. Woodley’s unquestionably valid reasoning for wanting to break up spoke for itself. As did the fact that Rodgers immediately moved on as quickly as he did.
These days, Rodgers is a bit of a weird dude. Between the video his new girlfriend posted and then immediately deleted and how high he constantly looks, it genuinely seems like he has changed a lot in recent years.
It’s hard to fault Woodley for not really wanting any part of that.
Plus, with the 2022-23 NFL season rapidly approaching, Rodgers likely wouldn’t have had much time for Woodley in the next few months anyway.

Some people are meant to be, but Woodley and Rodgers clearly were not.
Will the two of them be able to find the peace and love separately that eluded them when they were together?
Time will tell.
