Scottie Pippen Names All-Time Starting 5, Ranks Michael Jordan

Scottie Pippen is one of the greatest NBA players of all time. His abilities on both offense and defense were legendary, and he played an instrumental role in creating one of the greatest dynasties in league history.

All that being said – Pippen has risen to prominence in recent years for taking repeated, and seemingly uncalled for, shots at his former Chicago Bulls teammate Michael Jordan.

Pippen has degraded Jordan’s legacy at every turn, making some pretty serious allegations against him along the way.

This past week Pippen did an interview where he was tasked with naming his all-time top five lineup. Given his increasingly bad relationship with Jordan, many wondered what his selections would look like.

“I will take myself, Michael Jordan, Magic,” Pippen said before pausing.

“Based on today’s game, it would be positionless, right? So, give me Charles Barkley. I will stick with the older players. I take Shaq, I got a lot of offense.”

After giving it a bit more thought, Pippen backtracked.

“No, no, no,” he said. “You know what? Get rid of Barkley, give me Giannis. It’s Giannis at the four, and then give me Shaq at the 5.”

The beef between Pippen and Jordan has been extremely uncomfortable. Gary Payton has said it. Dennis Rodman has said it. Everyone gets it.

It has even gotten to the point where Pippen is allegedly scared to run into Jordan at events.

Hopefully this will be the start of a new chapter for these two. Pippen had the opportunity to take a shot at Jordan in this most recent interview and didn’t. Clearly these two will never be close friends.

But hopefully all parties involved can move forward from here on out in a respectful and collaborative way.
