A rooster that had a knife attached to its little leg for an illegal cockfight ended up killing its owner recently.
According to TMZ, the rooster’s owner fitted it with a 3-inch blade so that it could inflict maximum damage to the animal it was set to fight. Instead, the bird badly cut the man’s groin as it tried to escape.
The man in question, 45-year-old Thangulla Satish, had his femoral artery slashed and ended up bleeding out on the way to the hospital.

“Satish was hit by the rooster’s knife in his groin and started bleeding heavily,” an officer said of the incident, per KTLA.
The event is said to have occurred in the Lothunur village of Telangana, a state in southern India.

An officer confirmed that the rooster was brought to the police station initially before eventually being taken to a local poultry farm.
“We may need to produce it before the court,” he said.
It remains to be seen if the rooster will ultimately face any charges.
Obviously Americans have also witnessed instances of fatality due to ‘combat sports’ on multiple occasions, but never anything quite like this.
