Ray Allen Settles LeBron James vs Michael Jordan Debate (Video)

Ray Allen is one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. Many have him right behind Stephen Curry in the number two slot. Between that and his status as a two-time NBA champion, he is in rarified air.

This week, Allen spoke out on something of a contentious topic: who the true greatest player of all time is between LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

Because of Allen’s pedigree as a player and considering that he actually played alongside James, his opinion holds a lot of weight.

Who does Allen view as the GOAT? The video speaks for itself:

“Is he a great free-throw shooter?” Allen quizzed.

“Is he a great passer? Is he a great dribbler? So you’re saying LeBron James is the GOAT but he’s not even the greatest in all of those categories. You know who it is? MJ.”

Allen isn’t the first person to make this case in recent days. Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard recently offered his take on the matter.

Scottie Pippen also threw his two cents into the mix, though he gave the nod to James.

Beyond that, Allen Iverson has weighed in on it, as has Floyd Mayweather, as has Shawn Kemp, as has former President Donald Trump.

This is one of those conversations that is really fun to argue over, but will never have a definitive answer.

Greatness is subjective.

Both James and Jordan are uniquely incredible in their own ways, and it’s difficult to quantify that greatness in a way that will lead you to a firm conclusion.

Will that stop fans from trying to reason it all out, though? Probably not.
