Rajon Rondo Gets Brutally Honest About Chris Paul Beef (Video)

Rajon Rondo got brutally honest about his Chris Paul beef during a podcast appearance this past week.

Widely regarded as the two more fiery point guard personalities of their generation, Rondo and Paul have an interesting history.

It was highlighted by one particular brawl that occurred when Rondo was with the Lakers and Paul was with the Rockets, but a good 10 years of drama led up to that fateful fight.

This past week Rondo appeared on J.J. Redick’s podcast and shined a light on his current relationship with Paul.

“We’re kinda mutual friends with [Trevor Ariza], and he always says we have a lot of similarities,” Rondo said.

“Maybe that’s why we’re so feisty and we compete the way we do against each other. Obviously, it’s a lot of respect for him and how he plays, and what he’s done for his career.”

Paul’s strongheaded ways have led to him having issues with a myriad of NBA players. He has beefed with everyone ranging from Kawhi Leonard to Deandre Ayton to Patrick Beverley to Stephen Curry to Paul George.

This is a guy who once tried to injure his own best friend during a game. That is how competitive he is.

There a reason Matt Barnes recently went in-depth regarding why so many NBA players dislike Paul.

The fact that Rondo has seemingly resolved to let bygones be bygones with Paul really speaks to the former’s maturity and growth as a person.

Will Paul ever come out and show Rondo the same sort of respect he was given by his old rival in this particular podcast interview? Time will tell.
