Dyson Daniels was always one of the most intriguing prospects set to be featured in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Between his versatility and notable defensive skills, his stock has slowly risen throughout this process culminating in the New Orleans Pelicans selecting him with the eighth overall pick on Thursday night.
Prior to the draft kicking off, a number of top young stars walked onto the stage with their families.
Daniels was no exception.

Daniels’ mom was not the only person to go viral on Thursday, though. The same thing happened with Purdue star Jaden Ivey’s girlfriend.
Big picture, this has been a good week for the Pelicans. Between Zion Williamson’s recent body transformation and now this Daniels pick — the franchise is trending in the right direction.

The hope was that they would be able to build off this year’s memorable playoff run, and it feels like they will be able to do just that.
