XFL On Alert After Seattle Dragons Player Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Multiple XFL teams were placed on alert this weekend following news of a Seattle Dragons player testing positive for coronavirus.

On Friday, a player who thus far has remained nameless, reportedly learned that he had come down with the virus.

The player in question reportedly took part in the team’s most recent outing last Saturday against the Houston Roughnecks.

He reportedly self-reported the symptoms three days after the game occurred and was subsequently quarantined.

The XFL has said that it is “alerting players, staff, vendors and partners associated with the Dragons, Roughnecks, and BattleHawks, as this player also participated in the February 29 game in St. Louis. The XFL is monitoring the situation closely and taking every measure necessary in accordance with recommendations set forth by the CDC.”

This past Thursday, the XFL announced it would suspend the remainder of its year. In the same statement, the league said it would permit all players to sign NFL or CFL contracts.
