Tom Brady Disappointed By 2020 Free Agency Options?
Is Tom Brady growing disappointing by his 2020 free agency options? It is beginning to look that way.
Coming into the offseason, Brady and the rest of the league expected that a bidding war would erupt between multiple franchises vying for his services.
As it turns out, that may not in fact be the case.
According to ESPN analyst Dianna Russini, Brady is not garnering as much in the way of interest as many expected he would.
“I don’t think any of us have really considered that maybe some of this woo’ing or some of the interest that is put out there on the side of Brady is to save him embarrassment is the market isn’t as robust as you would think for Tom Brady,” Russini said on Get Up Tuesday morning.
“When you start looking at it and breaking down the details of it, is it really the smart decision for your organization? I think there’s a very good amount of teams out there who do not believe Tom Brady is their answer.”
One team that has been increasingly linked to Brady in recent weeks is the Tennessee Titans. And while Russini thinks that Brady would love to play there, she is not certain Mike Vrabel and Co. are totally sold on the proposition.
Last season, the Titans made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game on the strength of Ryan Tannehill’s game management skills. While he is clearly not the quarterback Brady was in his prime, neither is Brady.
There is a very legitimate debate to be had whether a 43-year-old Tom Brady is truly a significant upgrade over a 31-year-old Ryan Tannehill.
Couple that with the support that superstar running back Derrick Henry has thrown Tannehill’s way, and you have something of a complex situation brewing in Tennessee.
Where will Brady ultimately end up when it is all said and done? The New England Patriots are looking like an increasingly good bet.
