Surprising Candidate Emerges For Browns Coaching Job

A surprising candidate emerged for the Browns coaching job this week.

Heading into Wednesday, the two favorites to land in Cleveland have been former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, and current New England Patriots coordinator Josh McDaniels.

As it turns out, an interesting new name has entered the mix to replace Freddie Kitchens.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, team management will meet with San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh this weekend.

Saleh, 40, is one of the trendiest coaching candidates around this year after an extremely successful stint with the Niners in 2019.

Cleveland came into 2019 with a ton of hype. Some even considered the team dark horse contenders for a playoff appearance.

None of that actually came to fruition, though.

This year’s Browns were the same Browns we’ve seen for years.

After a disappointing 6-10 record on the year, management opted to get rid of Kitchens and general manager John Dorsey.

Who will ultimately end up filling the hear coaching vacancy? We should get our answer at some point in the next few weeks.
