Is A 3-Team Trade Russell Wilson Trade Brewing?

The Seattle Seahawks have a growingly untenable situation on their hands with Russell Wilson.

Due to the objectively poor pass protection he has received over the last few years, Wilson wants to go somewhere else. To date, only one legitimately serious suitor has emerged for his services.

This week, ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky came out and suggested a three-team trade for Wilson that he believes could solve everyone’s problems.

A win-win-win, if you will.

The transaction would involve Seattle, obviously, as well as the Chicago Bears and New York Jets.

The trade would feature Wilson landing with the Bears, Khalil Mack, Kyle Fuller or Allen Robinson, and a second rounder going to New York, and the Seahawks emerging with Sam Darnold and three first rounders.

Over the past few weeks rumors have run rampant that the Jets want to get rid of Darnold. This would allow them to do so while also getting great value in return. Plus, they’d then be able to use their second overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft on BYU’s Zach Wilson.

Although the Seahawks aren’t one of the three teams most frequently mentioned as likely suitors for Darnold, the fit makes too much sense to ignore.
