Nick Foles’ Contract With Chicago Bears Revealed
Nick Foles’ contract with the Chicago Bears was revealed on Wednesday afternoon. It is surprisingly solid.
This week, the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to fully commit to young quarterback Gardner Minshew and trade away Nick Foles.
Their trade partner for the transaction was the Chicago Bears, who gave up a fourth-round pick and some cap relief in order to facilitate the deal.
Although there were initially some reports that Chicago would have to eat the remainder of Foles’ contract with the Jaguars, some additional clarity on the matter was offered later on.
Nick Foles already has restructred his contract with the Bears, per source. He still has three years left, still has $21 million guaranteed left, but Foles now has the ability to void the deal after either of the first two years depending on his performance. Deal includes upside.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Foles restricted his deal with the Bears.
Per his new agreement, the veteran still has three years and $21 million remaining on the contract – but with outs in the first and second seasons. According to Schefter, Foles “has the ability to void the deal after either of the first two years depending on his performance.”
Foles will now compete with Mitchell Trubisky for who will be the starting quarterback come next season for the Bears. Presumably, Trubisky should win out – but anything is possible.
