Bills Star Damar Hamlin’s 3-Word Question After Waking Up
Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest during the Buffalo Bills’ Monday Night Football showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals.
It took 10 minutes of CPR and some quick-thinking by one hero on the Bills staff to save his life.
Eventually Hamlin was transported to a local hospital where he is now making his recovery.
On Thursday, Dr. Timothy Pitts of UC Health provided an update on Hamlin’s health – including revealing the question he asked after waking up.

The doctors told him, “Yes, you won the game of life.”

“Did we win?” Hamlin apparently asked.
“Yes, you won the game of life,” was the response he got.
In addition to that, Dr. Pitts revealed that Hamlin was making a “remarkable” recovery.
“He’s made substantial improvement,” Dr. Pitts said.
“It appears his neurological condition and function is intact. We are very proud to report that. … This marks a really good turning point in his ongoing care.”
This has been a revealing week. A lot of people showed their true colors when it mattered most.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s classy gesture will be remembered for a long time. Same with ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky’s extraordinary deed and the deep words of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Conversely, history will not look back as kindly on others. Skip Bayless’ insensitivity towards this situation looks like it might end his TV show for good.

Similarly, an ESPN analyst is facing calls for his termination over his commentary on the matter.
This Hamlin situation is a reminder to one and all about what is truly important in life.
Dr. Pitts is absolutely right – Hamlin did win in the only way that matters. Hopefully others adopt a similar perspective in 2023 and take stock of what really matters most.
