Vikings Issue Unexpected Dalvin Cook Injury Update

The Vikings issued an unexpected Dalvin Cook injury update this week.

Ahead of Sunday’s crucial game between Minnesota and the Green Bay Packers, many have speculated on Cook’s health status.

Cook has been dealing with a nagging shoulder injury for weeks now, and the Vikings badly need his production in this important looming game.

With a victory over Green Bay this weekend, Minnesota keeps its hopes of winning the NFC North alive.

Unfortunately, the timing of this game couldn’t be worse, as the Vikings have suffered multiple unfortunate injuries.

Besides Cook, Alexander Mattison has missed several days of practice due to an ankle injury.

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, both Cook and Mattison were on the field this past Friday for practice. Unfortunately, neither had their helmet on.

On Saturday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that Cook was definitely out for this coming game.

With Cook out, Mike Boone will need to step up for the Vikings.

Boone finished last weekend’s outing versus the LA Chargers with 13 carries for 56 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

His production obviously will never fully replace Cook’s, but it is still helpful nevertheless.

Thus far this year Cook has recorded 1,135 rushing yards and 13 scores. On top of that, he has also caught 53 passes for 513 receiving yards.
