Redskins Issue Surprising Injury Update For Dwayne Haskins

The Redskins issued a surprising injury update for Dwayne Haskins on Monday.

Haskins, 22, suffered a leg injury in Sunday’s showdown between Washington and the New York Giants.

The former Ohio State star played well right up until he got hurt, throwing for 133 yards and two scores.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapaport, Haskins’ injury is officially listed as a high ankle sprain.

Although Haskins is reportedly pushing hard to play in his team’s season finale game against the Dallas Cowboys, his status for the outing is still up in the air.

After the injury initially occurred on Sunday, Haskins is said to have pushed team officials hard to let him back into the game.

Fortunately, they refused to give in to the pressure thanks to team owner Daniel Snyder.

“Dr. West advised me that I was done for this game. Dan Snyder who was in the locker room supporting me, told me I’ve got to listen to the Doctor,” Haskins tweeted out after the fact.

The entire situation will no doubt spark memories of what happened when Robert Griffin III was allowed by Redskins brass to return to the game despite being injured. Many believe that Griffin was never the same after that.

That being said, it is good to see that Washington has learned from its past mistakes.

The Redskins ultimately ended up losing to the New York Giants in overtime on Sunday 41-35.
