Patriots Issue Surprising Tom Brady Injury Update

The Patriots issued a surprising Tom Brady injury update this week.

Brady, 42, is having something of a rough season by his standards.

Last week against the Cincinnati Bengals he threw 15-of-29 for 128 yards. Obviously those are not terrible numbers, but they also aren’t what we have come to expect from arguably the greatest passer of all time.

This has become something of an ongoing issue with Brady in 2019, with many speculating that this is either byproduct of age-related deterioration or a lack of talented receiving options.

As it turns out, though, there may be a completely different problem entirely: Brady might just be injured.

Following New England’s Week 14 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, Brady showed up to the press conference with a large wrap on his right elbow.

People questioned whether it was anything serious, but all reporters out of Patriots camp indicated that it wasn’t.

When Brady practiced in full leading up to last week’s Bengals game, the issue was dropped and forgotten.

However, a video from this week’s practice for the looming Buffalo Bills game showed him having some elbow issues after missing some throws.

It would certainly make a lot of sense if it turned out that Brady’s underwhelming performances this year were the end result of injury rather than anything else.

Will Brady’s elbow troubles bother him this weekend? We’ll find out once and for all come this Saturday.

  1. ”Last week against the Cincinnati Bengals he threw 15-of-29 for 128 yards. Obviously those are not terrible numbers…”

Could you make it any more obvious you don’t watch/know anything about football? Those are undoubtedly terrible numbers, particularly against the worst team in the NFL.

  2. After the Chiefs game (week 14), Brady shows up with wrapped right elbow. So maybe Brady played the Bengals (week 15) while injured. What has that got to do with the rest of his “rough 2019 season”?
