Chris Berman is in many people’s eyes the second most iconic NFL personality of all time.
Obviously John Madden is in a league of his own, but right behind him you have Berman.
Berman officially retired from ESPN in 2017, but then he returned and signed a multi-year deal to cover NFL for the Worldwide Leader in 2021.
This week Berman did the latest edition of the “Fastest Three Minutes” NFL recap when fans couldn’t help but notice something odd about him:

Someone needs to tell Chris Berman to stop spray painting his hair. That is not a good look. pic.twitter.com/cTbJdEi7Av

If it feels like sports personalities are in increasingly getting intensely scrutinized over their appearances – it is because they are.
Earlier this year people called for fellow ESPN NFL personality Sam Ponder to be punished for her choice of outfit on a broadcast.
Then there was that whole thing with how Pam Oliver looked this past Sunday.
And while this isn’t exactly being scrutinized over your appearance, all the attention Charissa Thompson got for that photo of her getting touchy-feely with a San Francisco 49ers player also was a bit odd.
Josh Allen’s girlfriend stole the show. https://t.co/BCLMqZtbR3

All of which is to say, NFL fans have become a very fickle bunch.
They are almost as invested in the appearances of their favorite personalities as they are their favorite teams.
Berman is just the most recent casualty of that.
