Jacksonville Jaguars Are Making Big Changes
The Jacksonville Jaguars are making big changes.
Coming into the season expectations were high for this team.
Last year was clearly a disappointment, but the acquisition of Nick Foles was supposed to rejuvenate the offense and restore the Jaguars to where they were in 2017.
We all know how that ended up going.
Foles got injured in the first game of the year, Jalen Ramsey demanded a trade and the wheels completely came off this clown car before the season even reached its midpoint.
Now it appears there will be consequences.
According to ESPN NFL analyst Adam Schefter, Jaguars brass is going to make “significant” changes to the organization during the offseason.
“League sources told ESPN that significant changes are expected for Jacksonville after the regular season; the question is how extensive those changes will be,” he wrote.
What sort of “significant” changes? Well, it would appear that executive vice president Tom Coughlin and Doug Marrone might find themselves on the chopping block.
Beyond that, management will also look to upgrade the roster.
It is easy to forget now, but Jacksonville came within a quarter of unseating the New England Patriots just two years ago. And that was with Blake Bortles as quarterback.
If the organization could restore even some sense of normalcy and Gardner Minshew continues to develop, it is thought that the Jaguars could return to the top of their division sooner rather than later.
On Sunday, Jacksonville beat the Oakland Raiders 20-16 and are now 5-9 on the season.
The goal at this point is simply to rack up some victories to end the year, gain a bit of momentum and could back strong in 2020.
