Indianapolis Colts Respond To Tom Brady Signing

The Indianapolis Colts responded to Tom Brady signing rumors this week by revealing that they currently have no meetings on the books with him.

Brady is reportedly heading into next month’s free agency with a very open mind regarding his next locale. Although some still believe that him leaving the New England Patriots is unlikely, others think it is inevitable.

To date, Brady as given no signals that he is interested in returning to the organization that drafted him 20 years ago. Conversely, he and his team have done everything in their power to suggest that the teams linked to him in the media all have a shot at landing the 42-year-old.

The Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have all been mentioned as potential suitors with varying interest levels.

This past week, The Athletic NFL insider Stephen Holder revealed that thus far no member of the Colts has been in contact with Brady’s representative as of yet. Clearly that does not meant that they will not reach out in the future, but it does seem to indicate that they are not intending to be as aggressive in their pursuit as someone like the Raiders.

Earlier this week, team general manager Chris Ballard told the media that he had no interest in commenting on Brady, but admitted that he was a fan of the future Hall of Famer’s work.

Per regulations, organizations are not permitted to speak to free agents until the legal tampering period begins on March 16.

Over the past few months there have been numerous contracting reports regarding Brady’s future. Some insist he will stay with the Patriots – others that he is definitely gone.

Who will ultimately be correct in their prediction? We’re about one month away from finding out once and for all.
