ESPN Experts Offer Chiefs vs 49ers Prediction
ESPN experts offered their Chiefs vs 49ers prediction ahead of Super Bowl LIV.
Heading into Sunday’s big game, the worldwide leader in sports rounded up all its football analysts.
The experts were then asked to select the winner of tomorrow’s outing.
In total, 78 experts were polled. Of that group, 48 selected Kansas City to beat San Francisco – 62 percent.
The remaining 38 percent of participants picked the Niners.
The final score that got picked with the highest frequency was 31-27, which eight total experts picked.
Niners reporter Nick Wagoner picked San Francisco to win 34-31.
ESPN also recently created a computer model to help prognosticate the outcome of looming football games.
According to this model, the Chiefs have a 64.8 percent chance of emerging from Sunday’s outing victorious.
The Chiefs and Niners ultimately took very similar paths to get to this point.
Both teams had first week byes in the lead-up to the start of their playoffs.
From there, Kansas City beat the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round and the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game.
The latter victory was particularly impressive because the Titans had previously defeated the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens in back-to-back weeks.
San Francisco, meanwhile, beat the Minnesota Vikings in the Wildcard Round and then Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game.
This outing its arguably the league’s best defense versus perhaps the NFL’s best offense.
Odds makers currently have the Chiefs installed as a 1.5 point favorite.
Who will ultimately emerge victorious this weekend?
We’re less than 24 hours away from finding out.
