Eagles Issue Surprising Health Update For Star
The Eagles issued a surprising health update for a star player on Friday.
Heading into this weekend, the stakes are high for Philly. A win over the New York Giants will secure a playoff berth.
Unfortunately, Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz is dealing with a fractured rib and is questionable to play in Week 17.
Ertz originally got injured last weekend in the Eagles’ big victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
Seeing as Philadelphia is already without DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffrey and Nelson Agholor, clearly having Ertz there for Carson Wentz to throw to would be the preferred option.
On Friday, Doug Pederson made it clear that they would not risk their star tight end getting further injured if they felt like that was a real possibility.
Doug said Zach Ertz will be at practice (at the Linc) but doesn’t sound like he’ll do anything. Said Zach wants to play but “I’m not going to risk further injury just to have him out there.”

“I’m not going to risk further injury just to have him out there,” Pederson said.
If Ertz is ultimately unable to go, Miles Sanders and Dallas Goedert would have to shoulder a larger offensive burden in his place.
