Andy Dalton agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the deal can reach $13 million if certain incentives are met.
After weeks of speculation about how Chicago was going to pull off a trade for one of the league’s best quarterbacks, fans were understandably miffed at the final result.

But fans weren’t the only frustrated parties. Ex-Bears players were equally perturbed.

For what it’s worth, it sounds like Chicago did try really hard to land Russell Wilson.
Chicago made “a very aggressive pursuit” of Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, per sources, and the Bears were told that Seattle is not trading him at this time.
The Bears were one of four teams Wilson’s agent named as a place of interest. Now Chicago has an agreement with Andy Dalton.

Last year Dalton went 4-5 in nine games as the Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott replacement. He finished with 2,170 yards, 14 touchdowns and eight picks in the role.
After news of Dalton landing with the Bears came out, their Super Bowl odds promptly decreased from 40/1 to 50/1.
