Andy Dalton To New England Patriots Not Happening?
Is Andy Dalton going to be traded by the Cincinnati Bengals to the New England Patriots?
It is increasingly looking like that will not be the case.
On Friday, Tom Brady officially signed a contract to become the next quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That leaves a big gaping hole at quarterback in New England.
Many thought that Dalton would end up being the person to fill that void. Not so, according to multiple Patriots insiders.
Instead, it appears as though Brady’s backup, Jarrett Stidham, is the odds-on favorite to be the starting quarterback come 2020.
According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, things are not currently trending in the direction of New England making a move for Dalton.
Something would have to change for the Pats to turn their attention to Andy Dalton. He hasn’t been discussed among the Pats’ immediate plans. https://t.co/FWZ3sAZemf

“Something would have to change for the Pats to turn their attention to Andy Dalton,” he tweeted. “He hasn’t been discussed among the Pats’ immediate plans.”
Last year, Dalton threw for 3,494 yards and 16 scores. The 32-year-old still has some gas left in the tank, but it remains to be seen if the Patriots will be willing to give up what the Cincinnati Bengals would ultimately want in a trade.
