Saints Reporter Issues Surprising Update For Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara

A New Orleans Saints reporter has issued an interesting update for Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara in the lead-up to Sunday’s big game against the Arizona Cardinals.

After sitting out for five weeks, Brees indicated to reporters that he might be available to play this weekend.

In Brees’ absence, backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has thrown for 1,370 yards and nine touchdowns, all while maintaining an undefeated record.

Bridgewater’s success led many to speculate that New Orleans may wait until after their bye week to reactivate their Hall of Fame staring quarterback, but apparently Brees wants to return before then.

Although head coach Sean Payton has not yet announced whether Brees and Alvin Kamara will be playing this weekend, ESPN’s Mike Triplett reports that both men were practicing on Friday.

“Saints QB Drew Brees and RB Alvin Kamara both participated during the early portion of practice open to the media Friday. But no announcement yet from Sean Payton afterward on who will start at QB Sunday. Said both guys got good work this week,” he tweeted out.

Regardless of whether Brees and Kamara play or not, the Saints are loaded on both sides of the ball this year and should have little trouble with the 3-3 Cardinals.
