McKayla Maroney is one of the most prominent and well-regarded American gymnastics of her generation.
Not only is it impossible to write the story of the immensely successful 2010s U.S. Women’s National Team without her involvement, but the accolades also quite clearly speak for themselves.
Maroney took home a silver medal in the individual vault and gold in the team event at the 2012 Olympic Games as a pivotal member of the “Fierce Five” squad.
In addition to being incredibly successful on the gymnastics mats, Maroney also carved out a niche for herself as a massive social media influencer in those days.
Now, more than a decade later, her reach is as strong as ever. That reach was put on display this past week when she shared some photos of a recent outfit she decided to wear.
Fans are loving Maroney’s style these days. On a separate post, they couldn’t stop telling her how great she looked.
“So beautiful,” one fan wrote.
“You are so fierce,” another agreed.
“So classy and beautiful,” a third chimed in.
Maroney has been in the headlines nonstop over the past few months. Between her provocative wardrobe choice to this year’s Grammys, her racy recent elevator videos and her wild birthday celebration, it has been one thing after another.
LSU star Olivia Dunne gets a lot of attention these days. She is the highest-earning NIL athlete around, and her provocative hotel room video with a teammate this week almost melted the internet.
But the reality is, Maroney walked so that Dunne could run. She made it popular for Dunne to post the sort of content that she regularly does.

Only Maroney couldn’t financially capitalize on it in those days in the way Dunne can now.
Hopefully Dunne understands that and appreciates the doors that were opened for her.
By any measure, Maroney had a very strong 2022. What will 2023 ultimately hold for her? Time will tell.
