Coming into the NBA season the Golden State Warriors faced a tough path to repeating.
Last year all the stars aligned perfectly for them to win their fourth title in eight years, but nobody thought the same would occur in 2022-23.
Surely enough, the year immediately got off to a rough start.
Between injuries, Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole and the weird situation surrounding Andrew Wiggins, it has been one thing after another.
This week, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr appeared on Tim Kawakami’s podcast and offered his thoughts on whether his team realistically had any shot of repeating this season.

“I think so,” Kerr said regarding his squad’s ability to persevere in the face of adversity.
“I really believe in this team, I think the fact that we traded for Gary [Payton II] and the way that [Jonathan Kuminga] has stepped up in Wiggs’ absence… it’s not as seamless as it was a year ago because we had a whole season together and we had all that rhythm and continuity.
“But I do feel good about our chances just with the talent that we have and the experience that we have.”
This week Wiggins’ girlfriend published a video that all parties involved hoped would quell the rumors about his absence, but it’s unclear whether it did the trick.

Either way, though, and regardless of whether he returns this season or not, Kerr is right.
The Warriors have more than enough talent to win another NBA championship. Will they actually be able to get it done, though? An answer will emerge over the next couple of months.
