The Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls are two teams expected to make big changes ahead of next month’s NBA Trade Deadline.
While the Bulls have primarily been connected to the Los Angeles Lakers over the past few weeks, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst splashed some cold water on that during a recent appearance.
Meanwhile, over in The Bay, Stephen Curry is outwardly begging the front office to make a move of some sort.
So where does that leave all parties involved?
This week, a report surfaced linking the Warriors to a possible trade with the Bulls. As part of the proposed move, Golden State would send Chris Paul, Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody, and a 2027 first rounder to Chicago.
In return, the Warriors would receive Zach LaVine, Alex Caruso and Julian Phillips.
Obviously when giving up two players of LaVine and Caruso’s caliber you want to get a ton back. That being said – Chicago is launching a rebuild. In order to successfully start anew, you need to blow up the existing roster and attain assets that will be beneficial in the long term.
Paul’s contract and a Warriors first-rounder that could end up being much higher than anyone realizes are great preliminary steps in that direction. Wiggins and Moody, meanwhile, are precisely the sort of role players you want to rebuild with.
As for Golden State – this would expand their championship window. LaVine would provide an explosive scoring option alongside Curry and Caruso is a reigning First Team All-Defense player.
Steve Kerr has made his feelings on Caruso no secret in the past. Likewise, he could probably do a lot with LaVine’s offensive arsenal.

The question is simply whether Chicago will deem Golden State’s package good enough.
Will the Warriors and Bulls be able to get something done ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline? Time will tell.
