Warriors, Bulls Linked To Blockbuster Win-Win NBA Trade

The Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls are two teams looking to make very different moves ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.

Whereas the Bulls are coming into the process as ‘sellers,’ Stephen Curry and Co. are hoping to add a piece or two that will turn their entire season around.

In recent days the Warriors have been connected to a massive trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, plus a pretty consequential one with the Utah Jazz.

That said – a deal with Chicago could make a lot more sense.

This week the Warriors and Bulls were linked in a blockbuster trade proposal that could have massive implications for both teams.

As noted by Fadeaway World, there is a win-win situation available that would see Chicago land Chris Paul, Moses Moody, a 2027 first-rounder and a 2028 first-round pick swap. In return the Warriors would receive Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has made his feelings about Caruso no secret over the years. DeRozan, similarly, would make for a snug fit with Golden State – despite him loving the long two-point shot far more than shooting threes.

The Bulls, meanwhile, would walk away with a solid role player in Moody plus some much-needed draft capital going forward. And given how awful the Warriors have looked so far in 2024, it really wouldn’t be all that shocking if their future draft picks wound up being a lot better than anyone might originally expect.

Big picture – Chicago clearly wants to move ahead with some sort of rebuild. Although the team doesn’t want to part with Caruso, as evidenced by what they are demanding of the Los Angeles Lakers in any trade for him, it might be something that have to suck up and do for their own long-term gain.

Will the Bulls and Warriors be able to get something done ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline? Time will tell.
