The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to multiple potential trades over the past few weeks.
Between a big move for Trae Young, three key role players and their current ‘top priority’ signing, L.A. has no shortage of options ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline.
In addition, the team has also been connected to a massive superstar who they are theoretically well-positioned to add this summer.
Ahead of Thursday’s 2024 NBA Trade Deadline, Los Angeles was briefly linked to another interesting potential move.
As noted by Fadeaway World, there is a last-minute NBA trade with the Charlotte Hornets out there for L.A. that could solve a lot of problems.
In the proposed deal, L.A. would dispatch Gabe Vincent, Jalen Hood-Schifino, a 2025 second-reounder, 2025 Second-Round Pick (LAC) and a 2027 second-rounder in return for P.J. Washington.
Washington obviously has a murky history when it comes to women, but on the court, the guy is a stud.
“The Hornets forward hasn’t had the impressive start to his NBA career many expected, but he’s showing consistent flashes of being one of the strongest role-playing 3-and-D forwards in the NBA,” Fadeaway World notes.
“Washington can shoot from three and the mid-range while using his 7’8″ wingspan to be a defensive menace. He hasn’t been an ace defender in Charlotte, but a winning situation will bring that effort out of him.”
Washington is also young enough to where he could either grow and develop with this batch of Lakers, or he could be flipped for more assets down the line.

Clearly the Lakers have no shortage of options when it comes to the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline.
Now it is all about picking a lane and pulling the trigger.
