Lakers Have Eye On 3 Players As 2024 NBA Trade Deadline Looms

The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly have their eye on three players as the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline approaches this week.

Boasting a 26-25 mark after 51 games, there is little question that L.A. needs to make some adjustments.

The only question is what precisely those adjustments will look like.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Lakers have their eye on three key players as the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline looms.

“[Dorian] Finney-Smith has drawn significant interest on the trade market, including several playoff-caliber teams such as the Lakers and Mavericks,” he noted.

“With Jarred Vanderbilt potentially out for the season, per ESPN, Finney-Smith is a versatile defensive forward who can make up for his loss while spacing the floor.”

In addition to Finney-Smith, the Lakers also appear to be kicking the tires on a reunion with their former center.

“One Bulls player who could be dealt, however, is center Andre Drummond who’s drawn trade interest from the Celtics, Mavericks, Lakers and Suns,” Scotto continued. “The Rockets also considered making a run at Drummond before acquiring Steven Adams.”

Given what Drummond previously said about playing for the Lakers, it would be interesting to see how precisely a reunion with LeBron James and Co. would look. That said, there is no denying he would help them down low.

Finally, while there is one Atlanta Hawks player that the Lakers have repeatedly been linked to in recent weeks, apparently another has recently caught their eye as well.

“Another player rival executives are monitoring is Danilo Gallinari who’s continued to be a knockdown 3-point shooter while playing minutes at the four and small ball five at times in the final year of his contract,” Scotto reported.

“The Lakers are among the teams who’ve checked in on Gallinari’s price tag to acquire him, league sources told HoopsHype.”

One way or another, Los Angeles figures to be active over the next few days.

Who will the Lakers ultimately come away with when the dust settles on Thursday? Time will tell.
