The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to multiple deals ahead of the looming 2024 NBA Trade Deadline.
Over the past few days alone, they have been connected to an Austin Reaves trade, a controversial role player and a big-name superstar.
That said, the one player they have been most closely associated with is Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks.
This week the Lakers were linked to a four-team NBA trade that would see them walk away with two players they had their eye on.
As noted by Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, in the proposed deal, Atlanta would receive a ton of assets. They would get Spencer Dinwiddie from the Brooklyn Nets, Jalen Hood-Schifino and Jaxson Hayes from Los Angeles, plus a 2029 protected first-round pick and almost $6 million in cash considerations from the Lakers.
L.A. would get Murray, Wesley Matthews and Mouhamed Gueye from the Hawks, plus Tyus Jones from the Washington Wizards.
Brooklyn would receive D’Angelo Russell from the Lakers and Anthony Gill from the Wizards.
Finally, Washington would receive Gabe Vincent and Max Christie from the Lakers, plus Harry Giles III from the Nets. They would also get a ton of draft capital: a 2024 second-rounder from the Lakers, a 2025 protected second-rounder from the Nets, a 2025 second-rounder from the Lakers, plus a 2027 conditional second-rounder from the Lakers.
From a financial standpoint, the Hawks would get an $18.2 million trade exception for Murray; the Lakers would get a $10.5 million trade exception for Vincent; the Nets would get a $20.4 million trade exception for Dinwiddie and a $2 million one for Giles; and the Wizards would get a $14 million trade exception for Jones and a $2 million one for Gill.
By any objective measure this would be a win-win-win-win for all parties involved.

At this point, it feels like all participants within the Lakers’ and Hawks’ organizations want to make something for Murray happen.
The question is what other teams will step up and help facilitate a deal.
Will the Nets and Wizards ultimately help deliver Murray to Los Angeles? Time will tell.
