A dark horse trade suitor emerged this weekend for Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine.
LaVine has made it no secret in recent days that he wants out of Chi-Town.
He has expressed interest in joining four teams, and suggested that there is one squad he has absolutely no desire to go to.
This week, a new name was thrown into the mix.
According to Shams Charania of the Athletic, the Toronto Raptors are worth keeping an eye on in this whole saga.
“I’m told the Raptors are also expected to have some level of interest in (Zach) LaVine.”

“I’m told the Raptors are also expected to have some level of interest in LaVine,” he said.
“Masai Ujiri is always aggressive in his approach, and it would be interesting, a team with Zach Lavine, if you were able to keep guys like Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby. The Raptors are a team to watch in this as well.”
If there is one franchise in the NBA that isn’t afraid to take a big risk its definitely the Raptors. Their Kawhi Leonard bet, obviously, is one of the most legendary examples of going all in and winning big in sports history.
Obviously acquiring LaVine wouldn’t quite rise to that same level, but it would certainly give Toronto the sort of franchise player that they haven’t had since Leonard’s departure.
Whether LaVine is a good fit with the Raptors from a talent and personality perspective is debatable, but given that the squad appears headed for another rough season, it might be a worthwhile risk to take.
Clearly LaVine isn’t long for Chicago. Him getting physical with a female Bulls staffer over the weekend was probably the last straw.

The bridges are getting burned quickly.
At this point, the only question is where he is going next.
Will the Raptors opt to make a play for LaVine when it is all said and done? Time will tell.
