Andrew Wiggins’ Girlfriend’s Cryptic Response To Warriors Trade Rumors

Andrew Wiggins' Girlfriend’s Cryptic Response To Warriors Trade Rumors

Andrew Wiggins played a pivotal role in the Golden State Warriors’ most recent NBA Championship two years ago.

Unfortunately, since then, despite being rewarded with a $100 million contract, his contributions to the team have been limited. These days, he has been relegated to the bench in favor of Jonathan Kuminga.

So far this season Wiggins is averaging 12.6 points per game (career-low) on 42.6 percent shooting from the field and 29.9 percent shooting from beyond the arc (career-low).

On Friday a report surfaced suggesting that Wiggins’ days in the Bay might be numbered.

“Though I’ve said in the past that the Warriors might be reluctant to trade Wiggins so soon after he signed a relatively bargain-rate contract extension specifically so he could remain with this team, I’ve since heard this would not be a major barrier for the Warriors to explore Wiggins’ trade market,” Tim Kawakami of The Athletic wrote.

“Especially if he can’t play with [Jonathan] Kuminga and the Warriors decide that Kuminga is their full-time small forward.”

Shortly after that report went viral, Wiggins’ girlfriend Mychal Johnson took to social media to offer a cryptic message:

Fans immediately took Johnson’s message as a response to the rumors surrounding her beau:

There some notable trade rumors floating around. Trae Young has three teams in the hunt for his services. Zach LaVine has four teams interested in him. So far, Wiggins hasn’t been the subject of any specific speculation.

That said – where there is smoke, there is usually fire.

And it is hard to ignore how disappointing Golden State has been this season.

Will the Warriors move on from Wiggins at some point in early 2024? Time will tell.
