3 NBA Trade Suitors Emerge For Pistons’ Bojan Bogdanovic

Bojan Bogdanovic is in the midst of another strong campaign with the Detroit Pistons.

So far in 2023-24 he is averaging 20.3 points per game on 46.8 percent shooting from the field and 41.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

While those stats are down a bit from last year, they are still extremely solid.

Unfortunately, Bogdanovic is 34 years old and has no real place on a Pistons team in the midst of a rebuild.

As a result, he has quietly turned into one of the more sought-after free agents ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline.

At the moment, three teams seem to be the frontrunners for his services.

The top candidate is the Philadelphia 76ers. While the jury is still out on Joel Embiid’s injury, it doesn’t appear as though the franchise is ready to throw in the towel on the season. Bogdanovic is essentially a more offensively-scary version of Tobias Harris, so while there would be some redundancy there, it definitely wouldn’t be enough not to pull the trigger on a deal.

The Los Angeles Lakers are another team to keep an eye on. Bogdanovic has been linked to L.A. repeatedly over the past few months, and he would solve a lot of the franchise’s massive shooting problems.

Finally, as noted by Bleacher Report, don’t sleep on the Orlando Magic in all this.

“While the Magic are clearly a team on the rise, there’s a cap on how high they can climb without fixing their 24th-ranked offense,” the report noted.

“Their three-point shooting is abysmal, and they need more support scoring around Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. Bogdanović would check both boxes without putting too big of a dent into the club’s asset collection.”

Where will Bogdanovic ultimately be playing when the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline comes and goes? Time will tell.
