The Golden State Warriors are looking to make a big move ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.
Stephen Curry’s pleas that the front office do something to upgrade the roster haven’t gone unnoticed. There is a reason they were connected to a major blockbuster trade this week.
One of the likeliest pieces to go, if Golden State does make a move, is Chris Paul.
The 38-year-old has done what he can with the role he has been given, but clearly has more in the tank than what he is showing right now.
According to odds makers, the Los Angeles Lakers are currently the frontrunners to come away with Paul if the Warriors opt to trade him. They are +300 to get something done.
Right behind them are the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat – both at +400.
Paul’s fit with all three teams is clear.
The Lakers need a competent ballhandler to take the offensive-playmaking responsibilities away from LeBron James. Paul is also a competent three-point shooter. He is shooting 36 percent from beyond the arc this year.
The Clippers make a ton of sense too, though. Leonard has been begging the franchise for a proper point guard for years. Yes, they have James Harden now – but he is more of a shooting guard that passes than a true point guard in the classic sense.
Finally, with Kyle Lowry proving to be a bust in Miami, Paul could have an immediate impact on the Heat.
In recent days the Lakers have been linked to a four-team trade, a swap for a big-name center, and two superstars.

That being said – Paul could make sense if none of those other deals go through.
It’s just a matter of priorities.
Where will Paul ultimately be playing by the time the NBA Trade Deadline comes and goes? Time will tell.
