Oklahoma Loses Star Player Before Bowl Game
Oklahoma lost a star player before their bowl game.
The Sooners snuck into the College Football Playoff thanks to a lot of things going their way.
First, Alabama lost twice – once to LSU and then Auburn.
Then Baylor choked away not one, but two games against them.
And finally, LSU beat down Georgia in the SEC Championship Game to knock them out of postseason contention.
As a result, Oklahoma will now face LSU in the No. 1 vs No. 4 match-up of the College Football Playoff.
Unfortunately, the Sooners will go into the big game without a veteran wide receiver.
#Sooners receiver Mykel Jones has entered the transfer portal. He’ll be a grad transfer. He’s caught 33 passes for 495 yards and one touchdown during his career.

According to Jason Kersey of The Athletic, junior Mykel Jones has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Seeing as Jones is going to be a graduate transfer, he will be eligible to play right away next year for whoever he chooses to play with.
Over the course of his first two years at Oklahoma Jones recorded 29 receptions, 416 yards and one score.
Despite being used fairly often in 2016 and 2017, his playing time dropped significantly in 2018 and 2019.
In his final two years at Oklahoma, Jones combined for just four receptions and 79 yards.
Coming out of high school in 2016, Jones was a four-star prospect and ranked the No. 45 wide receiver in his class.
It remains to be seen where he will ultimately end up.
