The Washington Wizards have gotten off to a hot start in 2022. Four games into the year, the team is 3-1 and Kyle Kuzma is on pace for a career year.
Currently, Kuzma is averaging 21 points per game on 48.3 percent shooting from the field. Both marks are his best ever.
In a lot of ways, thus far, Kuzma has actually outplayed Bradley Beal.
That said – everyone knows how this movie will end. The Wizards got off to a great start in 2021-22 as well, before falling back down to Earth. The NBA has that effect. Everything reverts to the way it’s supposed to be.
Recently, one NBA insider posited that a trade centering around Kuzma between the Wizards and Miami Heat would make sense for all parties involved.
“The Wizards have been loathe to rebuild as long as they have Bradley Beal on the roster, and perhaps that will continue,” Sean Deveney wrote.
“But should they begin looking to the future, Kuzma would find himself on the block. He is not the bruiser the Heat might like at power forward, but he’d add a scoring dimension to the position that the team lacks.”
In this proposed trade, Kuzma would head to Miami along with Taj Gibson for Duncan Robinson and a 2027 first-round pick.
It’s easy to see the benefits for both side here. The Heat would walk away with an additional scoring punch, something they could really use given how cooked Kyle Lowry looks these days.
The Wizards, meanwhile, would get a jumpstart on their inevitable rebuild.
Kuzma’s sensibilities off the court would also be well served in Miami. As recent photos of him getting intimate with his super model girlfriend would suggest, Kuzma aspires to make a splash beyond just being a player.
Pour one out for this NBA player. Now she’s got him for 18 years. https://t.co/4qv4fwBScA

Time will tell if the Heat and Wizards would ultimately be able to work something out here.
But on its face, this swap looks like an objective win-win for all parties involved.
