Shareef O'Neal’s 5-Word Response To Lakers Rumors
News that former LSU forward Shareef O’Neal had a workout scheduled with the Los Angeles Lakers this week caught many off guard.
As the son of Shaquille O’Neal, Shareef has been a touted prospect for many years now.
That said, between his limited playing time in college and the fact that the Lakers don’t have a draft pick to spend on him this year, few saw a path for him to get to L.A.
If the front office deemed Shareef as a player worth pursuing, a pick would need to be acquired via draft or purchased.
In response to all the commotion regarding his Laker workout, Shareef posted this succinct 5-word message to Twitter:

Shareef started his collegiate career at UCLA before heart surgery put things on pause. From there, he transferred to LSU.
Over the course of three seasons Shareef averaged 2.6 points in 11 minutes per game. Much like his dad, he shot quite poorly from the free throw line – below 50 percent.
The other issue with Shareef is that he is a bit undersized to play center in the NBA. With Anthony Davis out nonstop partying, getting extra skinny in the offseason and being perpetually hurt, a big man backup that the Lakers could rely on wouldn’t be a bad idea.

It’s just hard to see Shareef being that guy.
Will the heir apparent to the O’Neal family throne be able to shock the world, make the Lakers and turn into a valuable contributor at the next level?
